“Happy is the man who can recognize in the work of today the connected portion of the work of life and an embodiment of the work of Eternity.”
James Clerk Maxwell
Kent Augustson graduated with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara and was accepted into the PhD program in history at UCLA. After earning his Masters, he accepted an executive internship with the federal government for which he was competitively chosen. His thirty years in Washington, DC, featured presentations to the White House OMB and the US Congress. He learned the art of simply, colorfully presenting the essence of the matter while living history at the political center of the world and sometimes interacting with its principal players.
During these years he kept up a regimen of readings in history and upon retirement traveled worldwide for two years from the Great Wall to the Grand Bazaar to the Taj Mahal to see the world up close. Returned to chase after this idea that has grown into a trilogy on our place in time.
Augustson resides in Columbia, Maryland, with his wife, Judy, of fifty years. They have two children and three grandchildren living in the area.
